INFIDEL is the story of AISHA; a girl who was born to dance.
Aisha whose very first memory was of her father putting her first anklet on her feet,
whose feet moved of their own accord when her ears heard music,
whose entire existence was wrapped around the rhythm of the Tabla.
While others went to pray, Aisha closed the drapes of her home and danced her devotion.
When she danced, she felt neither thirst nor hunger - because she felt LOVE.
When she danced, she knew neither fear of the world she inhabited nor pain of what the future held in store - because she knew LIGHT.
When she danced, she saw neither the violence that was tearing her country apart nor the gloom of the time she was living in - because she saw GOD.
All Aisha ever wanted was to dance. But it's a dangerous wish for a girl living under a fundamentalist regime.
INFIDEL is the story of Aisha. But, it is also the story of every girl who dared to fly in a world that forbids them wings. It is the story of every artist who dared to create art in a world which condemns art. It is the story of every Infidel who dared to stand for their beliefs in a world where devotion to God is defined by men who hold power.
